An ancient formula of three ingredients that supplements qi and blood, smooths liver qi, and strengthens kidney essence
For male friends who want to strengthen their sexual function, there are quite a few approaches here. First, qi and blood must be sufficient; qi and blood are like the body's "fuel"—when they are adequate, the body's components can function normally. Second, liver qi must be smooth; in TCM the liver governs free flow, and when liver qi is smooth the body's qi movement is unobstructed. Finally, kidney essence and kidney qi must be vigorous; the kidney is the root of prenatal vitality—when kidney essence and kidney qi are sufficient, the body has a solid foundation. Any one of these three being deficient is problematic. If these areas have issues, trouble follows: mental fatigue and listlessness, flaccid tendons and inability to maintain, reduced libido, premature ejaculation, and other problems.
Today, I will share with you an ancient formula called Xianfang Sanbu Wan; it can strengthen the spleen, soothe the liver, and tonify the kidneys, addressing these key aspects of the body.
The first herb in this formula is Poria (Fu Ling), a master at strengthening the spleen. In traditional Chinese medicine, the spleen and stomach are the foundation of postnatal health and the source of qi and blood production. Poria can tonify the spleen and promote diuresis to remove dampness, eliminating the dampness in the spleen and stomach and restoring their transportive and transformative functions. When the spleen and stomach are functioning well, ingested food can be better transformed into qi and blood; with a source for qi and blood production, the body gains strength. In addition, Poria can calm the mind and settle the spirit, helping us sleep well at night, and good sleep accelerates the body's recovery.
The second herb is Myrrh (Mo Yao), an excellent agent for activating blood and resolving stasis. It enters the Liver meridian and can smooth Liver qi. In TCM the Liver stores the blood; if Liver qi is not smooth, blood flow becomes impeded and blood stasis is prone to form. Myrrh unblocks the Liver qi, allowing blood to flow freely, improving the circulation of qi and blood in the body and thereby reducing various ailments.
The final herb is Psoralea fructus (Bu Gu Zhi), which tonifies the Kidney and assists Yang, consolidating essence and restraining urination. Kidney Yang is like the body's "small sun," warming the whole body. Psoralea restores Kidney Yang and strengthens Kidney qi. With adequate Kidney qi, it comprehensively replenishes the kidneys and makes the body more vigorous.
In this way, qi and blood are replenished, liver qi is smoothed, and kidney essence is strengthened, so male sexual function naturally becomes more robust. If anyone has problems in this area, they might try this prescription—it could produce unexpected results.
