Today we’ll talk about a proprietary Chinese medicine which, when used properly, tonifies the liver and kidneys and benefits essence and blood with reliable effect. From the perspective of TCM, deficiency of both liver and kidney is much more serious than simple kidney deficiency.

You see, some people are tired all the time, listless, have poor resistance and get sick easily. Their legs and feet are sluggish, hair is dry and turns white prematurely, they have insomnia with many dreams at night, and dizziness and tinnitus during the day — these are all manifestations of liver and kidney deficiency.

Traditional Chinese medicine says that the liver governs the tendons and the kidneys govern the bones; when the liver and kidneys are healthy, the tendons and bones are robust. Look at those people in their sixties and seventies who are still very fit — they have abundant liver blood and vigorous kidney essence. Therefore, if you want good health, you must nourish the liver and kidneys and replenish the essence and blood.

What to do then? Don’t worry—I’ll introduce a patent Chinese medicine called Yangxue Bushen Wan. This medicine contains Cuscuta (Tu Si Zi), black sesame, He Shou Wu, and cooked Rehmannia (Shu Di); these are all excellent for tonifying essence and blood. Polygonatum (Huang Jing) regulates the spleen and stomach, and because the spleen and stomach are the source of qi and blood production, when they are strong the qi and blood are sufficient and can continuously nourish the body.

Having qi and blood alone is not enough; you must allow qi and blood to circulate unobstructed to nourish the internal organs. Therefore, this formula also includes safflower (Hong Hua) to invigorate blood and resolve stasis, opening the pathways. Achyranthes root (Niu Xi) strengthens tendons and bones; cinnamon (Rou Gui) warms and tonifies kidney yang; Rehmannia (Di Huang) tonifies kidney yin; Bupleurum (Chai Hu) soothes the liver and relieves constraint. These herbs combined benefit essence and blood, harmonize the five viscera, and improve bodily deficiency with very good effect.

Of course, each person’s physical condition is different. If you are not sure about your condition, you should go to the hospital and see a doctor in time—don’t take medicines on your own. Remember, health is most important; use medicines with caution.
