Last fall, my clinic came a lady with a Shandong accent. She said she saw on TV that I could cure nodules, so she came to Beijing from Shandong to see me.
According to this lady, she had suffered from superficial gastritis for many years, and then she was examined for thyroid nodules, breast nodules and liver cysts one after another, and her main symptoms were bloating, excessive gas and insomnia, which made her suffer a lot.
She also saw a Western doctor, and although those Western medicines had a certain effect, they did not last long, and the condition returned as soon as she did not take them. Western doctors also said that these nodules could only be removed and could not be cured by medication, but this lady did not want to have surgery, so she came to see a Chinese medicine practitioner.
I carefully examined the lady and found that her tongue was thinly coated with white fur and her pulse was stringy and slippery. Combined with the symptoms of the disease, I initially recognized that the disease was caused by a deficiency of the spleen and liver, and internal obstruction of phlegm and qi.
Stomach distention and gas discharge were obviously caused by the malfunction of the spleen and stomach; insomnia was related to liver depression and fire, and mental and spiritual unrest; and the formation of nodules and cysts was the result of stagnation of qi and blood, and phlegm-dampness stagnation.
In view of this woman's symptoms, I decided to adopt a two-pronged approach to address the nodules, cysts and other discomforts at the same time. First of all, based on strengthening the spleen and stomach, dredging the liver and resolving depression, drugs such as Codonopsis, Atractylodes macrocephala and Poria were used to tonify the spleen and stomach and enhance its function of transportation and digestion, and at the same time, drugs such as Bupleurum, Uljin, and Hovenia were used to dredge the liver and resolve depression, and to regulate the qi mechanism.
For the nodule problem, drugs such as Xia Gu Cao and Zhe Bei Mu, which have the functions of softening and dispersing nodules, resolving phlegm and dissipating stasis, as well as some more potent insect medicines, such as White Stiffy, etc., were added. In addition, considering the obvious insomnia symptoms of this woman, the addition of sour jujube nut, Yuan Zhi and other tranquilizing and sleep-aiding products.
After six weeks of this treatment, this lady came back to me for follow-up. At this time, her symptoms such as stomach distention and increased flatulence were obviously relieved, and the quality of her sleep was also significantly improved, so I increased the application of insect medicines, and focused the medicinal power on solving the problem of nodules.
After three months of conditioning, the lady went for an ultrasound review, and the thyroid nodules and breast nodules had all disappeared. The liver cysts, which had not been completely dissolved in three months because of their previous large size, were also disappeared after two more months of conditioning.
In less than half a year, the illness that had been troubling this woman for many years was swept away, and her condition has not recurred until now.
